Steering Committee Drives Future Strategy
November 2023, Utrecht Network Steering Committee Meets in Thessaloníki
The Utrecht Network Steering Committee gathered in Thessaloniki for a productive and forward-thinking meeting focused on shaping the future of the Network.
Updates from the Network’s Task Forces
The Student Mobility Task Force has a busy agenda ahead, with a meeting scheduled for December in Strasbourg. Key topics for discussion include the evolving dynamics of mobility within the Network and the development of a proposed survey to explore interdisciplinary exchange, a key area of distinction for the Utrecht Network.
Meanwhile, plans are progressing for the 2025 BIP Summer School on Academic Freedom and Academic Values, which will take place in August. This hybrid event, both online and in person, promises to foster collaboration and impactful academic engagement.
A new initiative is also in the works to create a page on the Network’s website dedicated to showcasing members’ Staff Weeks and highlighting opportunities for MAUI students. This reflects the Network’s ongoing commitment to professional development and creating valuable opportunities for its members.
In addition, discussions are continuing around a faculty-led Summer School in collaboration with the MAUI network. The Utrecht Network is preparing to take an active role in hosting and organizing this important academic initiative.
Enhancing the Network’s Communication Strategy
To make the Network’s communication efforts clearer, more engaging, and impactful, fresh ideas and practical steps are being implemented.
The LinkedIn page of the Network has grown rapidly, and members are encouraged to follow and promote it to further increase its reach and visibility.
Additionally, plans are in place to create a more dynamic and user-friendly homepage, which will better highlight the activities and initiatives of the Network.
Members and Task Forces will also play a crucial role in enriching the Network’s outreach by sharing engaging stories, interviews, and updates, ensuring that the Network’s messaging reaches a wider audience in a meaningful way.
Looking Ahead
As we look ahead to the next Joint Meeting, which will be hosted by the Jagiellonian University in February, and the Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for April at the University of Valencia, we are excited about the continued involvement of our members in these transformative initiatives.
We look forward to collaborating on these important events as the Utrecht Network moves forward.
