General

Owing to the centuries-old academic traditions, Vilnius University has gained considerable experience in organizing studies while creating the foundations for a wide range of study areas and fields based on knowledge that reflect fundamental and recent scientific achievements. The University also has highly qualified teaching staff able to ensure the unity of studies and research. Vilnius University offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate studies in humanities, social sciences, physical and biomedical sciences and technologies. Undergraduate studies usually last four years. After the completion of the chosen study programme, graduates are awarded a Bachelor’s degree with the exception of certain areas where they are also granted professional qualifications. Graduate studies, Master-degree studies or professional studies last from one and a half to two years. Graduates of Master studies are awarded a Master degree. Special professional studies aim at granting the students a high-level professional qualification. Studies in the fields of Law, Medicine and Odontology embrace both undergraduate and graduate studies. The residency and postgraduate studies enables graduates in Medicine and Odontology to acquire the higher qualification of a specialized medical doctor. Doctoral studies are meant to prepare researchers in various scientific fields. These postgraduate studies last four years and are completed after a successful defence of the PhD thesis. In order to respond to the demands of a fast evolving lifelong learning society, Vilnius University offers a variety of courses and programmes aimed at increasing qualification or requalification of specialists as well as expanding general or professional knowledge of citizens.

Call For Participation in the Final International of the JOI.CON project reserved for Utrecht Network members

The Task Force Joint Programmes of the Utrecht Network is launching a call for participation in the final seminar of the JOI.CON project on June 13, 2012. Three travel grants of 700€ each will be sponsored by the Utrecht Network to the selected eligible candidates from the network. Applications must be sent through the online application form and will be assessed by the Task Force Joint Programmes.

Seminar 25th anniversary Utrecht Network

Utrecht Network will celebrate its 25th anniversary on April 26-27 2012 in Utrecht. On April 26 there will be a seminar for Utrecht Network rectors and network representatives. On April 27 there will be the annual General Meeting and a network party.
